Welcome to Big School!

Starting 'big school' is one of the things that parents and carers worry about most, but relax, at Play Safe we have been guiding reception children (and their parents) through this process for the last nine years.  The most important thing to myself and my colleagues is that each child feels safe, secure and cared for in our Play Safe environment, this takes time, every child has different needs and is at their own stage in their journey.  We want you to become part of the Play Safe family, so please come and visit as often as you like in the run up to the end of the summer term and during the summer holidays.  Some children settle into our routines very quickly whilst others take time to form the special bonds that make them feel happy and secure, please be assured that they will be surrounded by other children from their class at school when they start and we are careful to make sure they aren't overwhelmed by the older children.  Each setting has a small dedicated team of childcare professionals who will care for your child, you will have a named key worker who will speak to you daily about what your child has been doing that day and you can ask any questions you like!  We have been asked so many different questions over the years so don't be embarrassed to ask anything...it is so important to us that you go to work feeling happy and confident that your child is getting the best possible care.  We will help them to cut up their food, encourage them to eat it, we supervise them while they visit the toilet and when those little accidents happen we have plenty of spare clothes and we are there to help.   

You will need to check specific arrangements for starting school as each of our partner schools has different procedures at the start of term, not all schools start full days for reception children from the beginning of term.

To make things a little easier for our new parents and carers we have decided to give you the month of September 2017 FREE OF CHARGE, so that you can try out our service and you don't have to pay for any sessions whilst you are taking time off work to get your little one settled in.  This offer is available to children who are starting in reception and have never had a regular booking pattern with Play Safe before starting reception.
